Got both the drum and DVD. Left very positive feedback.
This is a beautiful drum. I play in a Women's Percussion
group, and I needed a drum that has a good sound, and
was lite enough that I could stand with for an extended
period. This drum is it. You did a great job reworking
the drum. It is a joy to play. ;-)
Well
the drum and the cd's etc. all arrived today at the
same time. Boy what a lucky break for me. I just had
to stop house cleaning (Ha) and started playing. It
sounds great. I'm no expert, but from the little I know,
this drum can do it all. Can't wait for my first drum
circle with it.

Alejo, I was finally able to pick up the djembe from
the neighbors yesterday. I was playing it all night
until I had to go to sleep. It was very hard to stop
for more than a few minutes. I love it. It was also
very nice to deal with you, as you kept me updated on
everything.

sooo worried but after the tuning it now is truly the

It arrived!! Today was my day off and there I was laying
around watching a movie when the UPS truck pulled up...he
pulled from his shipment and I had a good feeling it
was my drum....needless to say I opened it up and was
immediately in awe. I sat there and smiled while I held
it and then looked at it for a bit. Then of course came
to playing it and smiled even more. Even as new as I
am to djembes I can tell that this is a top quality
drum. The design is one of a kind and the sound is beautiful.
I have already started listening to the CD ROM, its
going to be very helpful. Looks like I have a new best
friend!! Thanks a million! --- I have a feeling this
isn't the last drum I will purchase from you!
A
friend of mine who is an Orff music teacher (they use
a lot of drums) told me this was the best Djembe she's
ever seen.... (compared to the ones she would buy from
music stores.... even the individually "hand-made"
versions).... she was especially impressed with how
strong a high-pitched sound (slap? tone?)
you can make and still get a very strong bass sound
on the same drum.
This
drum is fantastic..
As
soon as it came out of the box I loved its looks. I
love that it looks authentic, not counterfeit. No cracks
or patches, I was worried about them but you come off
with a sincerity and passion that I knew the drum would
be good and it is. I am so happy with it I cooked dinner
with it on the kitchen counter so I could hug it. Serious.
I am afraid I will knock things off the walls with the
bass - I can make my windows rattle and I have good
windows. I honestly can't remember buying something
lately and not being disappointed. I am glad I got one
that you had worked on. Thanks.

very pleased with it.It has a much better if more muted
sound than my Remo Djembe, and actually more sustain.It
makes the Remo sound artificial,
which it is of course.The more I play it the better

the
best way to describe the difference for me is that your
djembe is like playing a real piano, the Remo is like
playing an electric keyboard... Of course, I also appreciate
the artistic addition of the tacks and the labor you
invested vs the syn sameness of Remo
The
drum still sounds awesome and my friends can't get over
the sustain on the low-end. I have played it at church,
and on a worship project our church is recording.
I
got the drum today and it sounds great. I am very pleased
with the sound and it looks cool too…. Did I mention
it sounds great?

so smooth. How did you get it this way? Any tips on
preserving and care? From your ebay pics, i really couldn't
appreciate your tac design but up close it is really
